True Nick if its not similar then it wouldn't be a remake. I like how new things are added in Evangelion 2.22 and I'm hoping to see a better ending with this series other than the old confusing ending they gave us that made no sense at all.

Nice review! ^_^ I'm curious on what your follow-up post is like (although I personally don't believe in sequel theory, BUT the New Movie Edition is giving a serious "Eva is a story that repeats" vibe).

The wait for 3.0/Quickening (fetal movement; aptly named, eh?) is getting to be too much. >.< Come on, Studio Khara, at least give us SOME news about it! Things from here on out really are going to be a brave new world, I'm so excited for it.

Thanks for the comment Nick

As with all things ratings are subjective and if I was not familiar with the original series I would have probably given Evangelion 1.11, a rating of 8/10. And I did make it clear why I gave it a low rating.

You are also right in saying that I found 2.22 more to my liking and you may be happier with its rating.

I'm sorry, but your wrong. The differences, as subtle as you may think they are, are more than enough to change the whole dynamic of the series, Seriously 6/10, because it was too similar to the original? If they had changed everything it wouldn't be Evangelion. After you watch 2.22 you might more pleased, but please don't give a great movie a bad review because it wasn't what you wanted, just be happy that new material is being released.

I haven't read the boards yet, but was thrilled when the cowboys commnts came from the Doctor as The Girl In The Fireplace was my truly favorite of any of the episodes. We all wanted M de Pompador to come along as charmingly as she was played... so I'm very pleased with an homage to that storytelling.

After a character as compelling as The Fool, and such believable relationships as Hobb created in her 9 Farseer books(yes I see the Liveship Traders as related because of the fool's character), I was expecting something so much more. Dragon Keeper failed to tweak emotions, and I judge a book as good or bad by how many emotions it touches, and how hard it touches them. I stayed dry-eyed and unexcited through most of the book.

the two women behind Rassilon that hid their eyes. on of them was Romana (companion of the forth doctor and also a Time Lord). it was her that the doctor caught a glimpse of. The other could have been Leela (but not sure of it), the companion of the 4th doctor that stayed behind on Gallifrey.

the episode was well written but they could have mentioned more of what happened to the doctors home world after its been trapped for a long time.

Last night I watched FlashForward for the first time and when I'm watching a show like this one I like to have a synopsis to read while watching the episode. I found this site and I've really enjoyed reading your analysis of the episodes as I've watched them. I think you're really insightful and I would've been totally lost on the Blue Hand plot if you hadn't have worded it so well. I hope that you are still watching the show because I will now be watching it on tv (even though it coincides with Bones' schedule) and I'd like to read your thoughts on the episodes. One thing I'd like to suggest mulling over in your mind, when the last black out (that we know of) occurred in 1991 we saw those towers put up in the area of Somalia that are as of right now the most likely cause. You said you thought maybe these towers were somehow put up in present day. To me, I think this could be probable but what my thought was that the Somalia blackout was 20 years ago so whoever successfully made that happen has had 20 years of technological advances to help them make a better (possibly smaller) model. My guess was that by this time these big towers could now be little tiny cell phones (like how computers were once big machines) and could have easily been planted all over the world and then activated. That might not make sense because I'm very tired (I pulled a random all-nighter in which time I watched FlashForward lol) but I hope maybe I gave you something to think about and maybe I'll get a reply. Either way I really enjoyed your blogs about the show.
