While on the whole I enjoyed this episode of FlashForward, I did have mixed feelings about some parts of the episode, and the plausability of one particular aspect of Mark and Demetri in Hong Kong. There were also enough questions raised to keep people speculating during the mid season break.

After the last episode in which Bryce played a major role was my least favourite in the series so far I had relatively low expectations going into this episode. While I am still not that big a fan of Bryce I did however find Believe to be an enjoyable episode, even though there was not enough development in the main plot for my liking.

One of the big questions in FlashForward has been whether or not the future is fixed. In the bad House clone episode they had a chance to answer this question but failed. In The Gift however they answered it in a dramatic fashion that while in retrospect is obvious from the start of the episode but is still a shock when it actually comes.

After the drama of the previous episode, there was a danger that this episode would be a bit of a let down. Thankfully this was not the case and in many ways the title of the previous episode "Gimme Some Truth" could equally apply to the developments in Scary Monsters and Super Creeps. Unfortunately (for me) several of the developments in this episode also served to kill off some of my own pet theories about where the series was heading.

I found this episode to be a bit of a disappointment following the high quality of the first 3 episodes as this is the first episode that I would think truly qualifies as filler. The main plot came across like a bad episode of House, and the rest of the episode felt like it was set up for later on in the series. While I think a lot of the plot elements will be important in later episodes I did not think it made for stellar television.

A bit of a slower episode this week which seems to have the theme of people living by the future instead of for it, and people doing things they would not otherwise even consider. This is shown by Mark doing a "deal with the devil", Aaron obsessing about his daughter and Demetri obsessing about his death, though I cant really blame him for this. We also have another piece of the future slide into place with the D-Day on Marks Future board being revealed to refer to Demetri's wedding day rather than some additional seismic event on April 29th 2010.
