Mr Random 13 November 2009 No Comment

Celia receives her letter from Al, and it soon becomes headline news that the future can be changed. While watching a debate about this on the news Lloyd sends an e-mail saying they need to take responsibility.

At the FBI Janis returns to work and initially tries to resign because of her Flash Forward and what happened to Al. Director Wedeck manages to talk her out of it however.

Back at the hospital Lloyd is showing Dylan a slight of hand card trick, when Simon appears to confront him over his wanting to admit to causing the blackout which Simon doubts they are responsible for.

Elsewhere Mark and Olivia are having a romantic getaway when he gets a call from Demetri about footage of a murder committed by a man with a 3 star tattoo (from the assault in Marks Flash Forward), which causes him to head into work and start investigating the case. At the hospital Olivia opens a gift from Mark and recognises it as the lingerie she was wearing in her Flash Forward.

At Aaron’s he is looking after his daughter (who has lost a leg), and it is revealed that he hasn’t told anyone yet. He then confronts her about what happened and asks her to tell him what happened.

At the hospital Olivia is amazed to hear that Dylan hasn’t yet been discharged, this time due to developing a Deep Vein Thrombosis. Lloyd and Simon appear to check on Dylan’s condition, Simon manages to get Olivia to agree that it is safe for Lloyd to leave Dylans bedside for a while and should be able to be discharged soon. Simon then challenges Lloyd to a game of Texas Holdem poker to determine if they keep quite or go public on causing the blackout.

Mark, Janis and Demetri arrive at the witness’ house only to find a woman murdered outside the house. They initial fear the worse only to find out that it is the witness’ roommate. At the FBI the witness Ingrid tells them what happened and how she saw 3 men arguing in an alley and managed to keep calm enough to use her phone to record footage. The victim had handed a case over before getting killed and the perpetrators as they were walking away talked about something like QED.

At the poker game a discussion comes up about an Inevitability Index and the odds of the future happening. There is then a debate about Fate vs Free Will which Simon ends by saying he will win this hands and all subsequent hands ad infinitum QED. After a bit more banter, Simon wins the hand, and says it is futile to fight the future.

At Aaron’s Tracey finally opens up to her father and tells him that she couldn’t return to base after the attack as she was attacked by allies Jericho PMC, and she had reported them wiping out a village a week earlier to her superior officer, indicating that some of the military are allied with them.

Later Aaron calls Mark and tells him about Tracey and shows him a picture to prove he was not lying. The DNA from the body was from her leg which she lost. He then asks Mark for his help.

The next day Mark suggests to Director Wedeck that they use Ingrid as bait to catch “the guy”. While initially reluctant and Janis wonders if it will even work if they send out word that they are releasing Ingrid, Wedeck then points out there is a good chance they have a mole given how D Gibbons knew the FBI was coming and they were attacked soon after Janis got the Somalia photos and Mark was attacked inside the building in a few months time

At Aaron’s Tracey is upset to learn that he told Mark she was alive, Aaron then tries to reassure her that everything will be okay and they will be alive in 6 months time as they shared a Flash Forward. He then mentions meeting with a medic Khamir, who she knew who he handed a package after learning that the accounts had been verified.

At Ingrid’s place of work she tells Janis about her Flash Forward where she was working in the Bronx Zoo. A little later there is a large bang and the lights go out. Mark and Demetri enter and Mark shoots and kills the intruder who he claims was about to shoot him (but only after recognising the tattoo), later on Demetri wonders if Mark shot him deliberately. In the aftermath Janis tells Ingrid she needs to be put in witness protection.

In the poker game, Simon has the upper hand and decides to make the hand winner takes all. If he wins they keep silent and if Lloyd wins they go public. Simon then reveals he has four of a kind, Lloyd then reveals he has a straight flush winning the hand. Later Simon asks him how he won, and Lloyd implies he won by cheating using sleight of hand.

At the FBI Janis shows Wedeck enhanced footage of Subject Zero in which a ring is visible on his hand. Later we see another of the murderers handing the case over and we see that several men have the 3 star tattoo. Another man hands the case over to someone else, and the case is shown to contain 6 rings which have an alpha sign on one side, and one ring is missing (should be seven). The man then shoots the courier and walks off.
