The episode opens with a flashback to the blackout of 14 days earlier where we see a man Edward Ned help rescue a woman from a bus that has become submerged in a lake. We then jump to the present where Ned is talking to Bryce and Olivia in hospital about what happened as he is in pain and it is also mentioned how he was able to keep calm. We then find out that in Ned’s Flash Forward he was in a high end bar and was black!

The next day at Mark’s we find out that Nicole has been “found” and is baby sitting again, we then see her talking to Aaron and discover than Tracy used to baby sit her. When Aaron mentions the Flash Forward and to have faith it happened for a reason she looks disturbed.

At the hospital we see Olivia and Bryce talking about Ned and Olivia getting fed up of Bryce talking about the Flash Forward. As they approach Dylan Simcoe’s room we see a food tray come flying out followed by a dishevelled Lloyd Simcoe trying to clean up the mess. This reminds Olivia of her Flash Forward and she tells Bryce to have Dylan transferred to Physical Therapy but he points out that Dylan is still on Antibiotics.

At the FBI Mark tries and fails to convince Director Stanford that they should travel to Somalia. It then turns out that the CIA is not passing on satellite photos of the area in 1991, which Stanford dismisses as them having other concerns at the moment and that they do not need to go to war with the CIA over this. As Mark leaves the office with Al he mentions a hacker they once busted and suggests they should have him try to hack into Langley. Al talks him out of it however.

Demetri is interrogating Alda Herzog, and it turns out she has a lot of fake passports. She then points him in the direction of Customer Choice Restaurant group in Indio California and says that is all she has for him. She then taunts Demetri about running out of time. Demetri then goes to Stanford about following up on the lead, which Mark objects to but gets overruled.

Back at the hospital Lloyd Simcoe tries to apologise to Olivia about earlier and ask her advice. Olivia is relatively cool towards him and suggests Lloyd get some sleep at home. She then tells Bryce to transfer Dylan anyway as PT should be able to handle antibiotics.

In the restaurant in Indio California a staff member grabs a backpack and makes a run for it when he hears that Mark and Demetri are FBI agents. When he is caught up with it turns out he is not involved with dirty bombs but is instead running drugs (Yellow Cake cannabis). Demetri then starts to attack the mouthy drug dealer and gets into an argument with Mark and hits him. He then tells Mark how he will be murdered on March 15^th. Mark then tells Demetri that they can use what they saw to stop what they saw, and that is why he is so obsessed with Mosaic.

At the hospital Lloyd hands Bryce his notebook which has a picture of a woman on it. Lloyd refers to the Flash Forward as a temporal anomaly in global consciousness and tells Bryce his Flash Forward which is confirmed to match Olivia’s, he also mentions that Dylan was nearby in another room. Bryce then sees Olivia and gives her Ned’s CT which shows a haematoma. Ned is surprisingly calm when told the news by Bryce.

Nicole has gone to visit a Priest and says she wants to help out, but the Priest says they already have enough people. We then see glimpses of Nicole’s Flash Forward and she appears to be drowning and says she feels that she was being punished for something. We also find out she has a sister Paige.

At the hospital Bryce is looking up Pigment Change as a symptom, and rushes to the Operation Room as he realises Ned could have Addison’s disease and the surgery could kill him. Olivia ignores Bryce as she thinks his judgement is being impaired and Ned needs urgent surgery so won’t administer Hydrocortisone to combat Addison’s.

A little later the surgery starts to go wrong and Ned’s condition rapidly worsens and he goes into Cardiac arrest. Olivia realises Bryce was right and gets the Hydrocortisone which fixes the problem.

At the FBI Mark interrogates Alda about Demetri’s murder which she professes ignorance. He then sees if she responds to any of the locations he remembers from the Mosaic board or in connection with the investigation. She then taunts Mark and calls the Flash Forward a “Black Swan” a metaphor for a high impact invent, something beyond the normal realm of human expectation. Alda then states that Mark doesn’t have the guts to succeed in his investigation. A little later we see Mark approach Al who is looking for Celia on the Mosaic Collective and tells him to call the hacker he mentioned earlier Mr Cheeto Dust.

At the hospital Olivia and Bryce apologise to each other about their earlier actions, and Bryce says he is all right as the Future saved him. Olivia then finds out that Dylan Simcoe was transferred back as PT couldn’t handle his treatment.

At Mark’s house he talks to Nicole and finds out about her Flash Forward. She reveals that she saw herself being drowned and that she felt like she deserved it. Mark reassures her and says he will have a member of the LAPD talk to her tomorrow, and that she could do nothing that deserves punishment.

At the hospital we see that Dylan and Lloyd are getting along a lot better following Lloyd visiting his ex-wife’s house. Lloyd then gets a phone call from Simon who tells him that they need to talk and that he has to put up with it since “were responsible for the greatest single disaster in human history”
