The episode opens with an extended version of Demetri’s “murder” phone call, in addition to the date we learn that he is killed by being shot 3 times in the chest. We then cut to Quale prison in Munich Germany, where a Nazi war criminal Rudolph Geyer tells his guard that in his Flash Forward he saw something that will guarantee his freedom.

At Mark’s house Aaron arrives and it turns out that Mark has not told Olivia about Charlie and D Gibbons. Aaron advises Mark to not keep secrets from Olivia and to do whatever he has to, to protect his family.

We then cut to an airport in Seattle, Washington where Demetri’s fiancée Zoey a criminal defence lawyer, is about to leave on one of the first flights to Los Angeles. The flight is more than half empty and she is sat next to the nervous CEO of the airline who is only flying along with other executives on different flights to prove the skies are safe again.

Back at the FBI Demetri gives his cell phone to Al to try to trace the call he received from the mysterious woman. In Marks office he hears about Rudolph Geyer who claims he knows why the blackout lasted exactly 137 seconds, and Mark remembers seeing him on his board. Director Stanford is then convinced into letting Mark and Janis go to Germany.

Elsewhere Aaron walks into a bar called Tinhorn Flats were his ex wife Kate works, he tells her about what he saw in his Flash Forward and wants to exhume his daughter Tracy’s body which Kate does not allow as she blames Aaron for Tracy’s death and thinks he imagined it.

In a motel Demetri and Zoey “get reacquainted” after their time apart, Demetri gets a shock when Zoey says she had a Flash Forward to their wedding on a beach. Demetri then lies and says he saw the same thing and Zoey tells him that they now have a date set for their wedding.

In Munich Mark and Janis arrive at Quale Prison to speak to Rudolph Geyer. When they start to speak to him, he says he knows Mark from his Flash Forward, and wants something for his information. His demand is that he wants to return to America and have all charges against him dropped.

Outside the cell, Janis and Mark argue about the ethics of dealing with Janis, with Mark arguing the ends justify the means with Janis vehemently opposed to it as she views Geyer as Evil.

Back in the US Olivia is having a meal with Director Stanfords wife Felicia, and they talk about what they saw. It turns out that Felicia was putting an unknown 8 year old boy to bed who called her Mum.

Back in Germany Rudolph Geyer offers a compromise, where he gives some information now, they verify it and pardon him then he gives them the rest. He then goes on about the Kaballah school of thought and how the numbers in it add up to 137. He then describes his Flash Forward and how he saw himself entering the US and meeting a US Customs Agent Jerome Murphy and how he had a Murder to thank for his return home.

While Mark contemplates Geyer’s offer he receives a phone call from Aaron who wants his help in exhuming Tracy’s body so he can have the remains tested against the DNA the army has on file for her.

Back at the FBI Demetri agrees to help Mark get Tracy’s body exhumed, and tells Stanford that he cant find a Jerome Murphy working for customs, Stanford then tells him to check applicants as he may not be working their yet. This helps him track Jerome down who verifies Geyer’s story. As Demetri turns to leave he knocks over a bong which means he has cause to arrest Jerome for drug use and has his future in his hands.

Back in Germany Janis and Mark debate where the limits of dealing with people should go, and Mark describes he is taking a leap of faith. He then gets a phone call from Director Stanford who says he is pushing the paperwork through and then goes on to say how people are now basing their actions on what they saw in the future and are doing things they would not normally do and people are now concerned with making sure that it does or does not happen, living by the future instead of for it.

Back at the FBI, Demetri receives word that they could not trace the call as it was coming from 2 different sites at once. He then gets Al to get the logs from the repeater sites despite their being millions of calls being routed through them.

In Germany Mark informs Geyer that he is a free man, Geyer then tells Mark that he saw lots of dead crows, and this is all the information he has and he doesn’t have a clue about anything else. Geyer does tell Mark that in his Flash Forward he is certain that he will find the information useful, but how useful is up to him.

Back in the US Aaron speaks to Kate at his bar, he lets her know that she was right about the remains being Tracy’s and that he is sorry for going behind her back and not listening.

At the memorial service for the fallen FBI agents, Felicia gets a shock when she sees the boy from her vision in the front row. At the wake a comment about services happening all over the world sets Mark thinking about something and he gets Janis to look up something for him.

At the office he gets Janis to look up the crow population for the past year and finds that the population plummeted on the day of the black out. He then finds out that there was a similar fall in the Ganwar Region of Somalia in 1991. After a little further investigation they discover that in October 1991 their was a mass blackout there. This leads Mark to wonder if it happened before?

We then have a Flashback to the region in 1991 where we see a young Goat herder witness hundreds of crows fall from the sky and a wave coming from a strange tower.
