The episode begins with the children at Charlie’s school playing “Black Out” and telling each other what they saw. This upset Charlie who ends up running away from the school after pushing a boy to the ground damaging her teddy bear in the process. She is caught when she runs into soldiers manning a road block nearby.

At the FBI Director Stanford is in a meeting in the aftermath of mass resignations after the event and is trying to boost morale when he is interrupted by Deputy Secretary Anastasia Markum who wants to know why they have taken it upon themselves to investigate the Black Out. Mark then gets called away to deal with Charlie.

At the school Mark and Olivia talk about why Charlie isn’t talking about what she saw, and Mark brings up that there is a good chance Charlie was at home and therefore would have seen Lloyd Simcoe in their house and need to show her that things are still find between them.

Back at the FBI, Janis goes over how the Mosaic program works and the Deputy Secretary is then informed about Subject Zero at the Oxide Super Stadium in Detroit when she thinks they are following hypothetical flights of fancy.

As Olivia and Mark cant get a baby sitter Olivia takes Charlie to work with her where she runs into Lloyd Simcoe who has been trying to get hold of her about his son Dylan. She is then surprised that Lloyd does not recognise her until she realises that Lloyd did not actually see her face during the Flash Forward. Given that she doesn’t want to risk her marriage Olivia brushes him off onto her colleague Bryce Varley.

Back at the FBI Demetri notices that Mark is wearing the Friendship Bracelet from his vision and confronts Mark about wanting the future to happen, as he is afraid that he (Demetri) will be dead in 6 months time. As they move on and debate if D Gibbons is important or not Janis comes in and tells them that she walked in asking for Demetri.

Didi mentions that in her Flash Forward she was arguing with a credit card company and referred them to Mark and Demetri at the FBI. Mark then confronts Stanford about what he saw in his Flash Forward as he should have seen the Gunmen if in a meeting, Stanford then goes into the unpleasant details of his toilet based Flash Forward and the aftermath when he woke up. Stanford then threatens Mark with a transfer to the middle of nowhere if anything leaks out about this.

Back at the hospital, Olivia shows Charlie Lloyd and asks her if she has seen him and she has not, however she is very upset when she sees an injured Dylan in the hospital bed as he was in her Flash Forward.

At the FBI they find that there is a suspicious credit card entry in Pigeon, Utah. Olivia then arrives and tells Mark about what Charlie saw and that Lloyd is the man she saw. Demetri then grabs Mark as they have another hit on the cloned Credit Card in Pigeon to buy a bus ticket and they need to get there ASAP.

In Pigeon the local Sheriff meets them and tells them that she also did not see anything. Later on they find that the Suspect has not turned up, but Mark notices a doll factory nearby and since he saw a photo of a doll in his vision decides to investigate it.

Inside the factory they find someone is there but set off an alarm alerting the man to their presence. When they burst in on the man they find him holding 2 lighters and he then says

“He who foresees calamities suffers them twice over”

The suspect then drops the lighters into 2 pools of liquid which are set alight and then shoots and kills the Sheriff before escaping and setting off grenades destroying all the equipment in the room.

Later on as the crime scene is examined Mark recognises a photo that has been taken as one off his wall. Demetri then comes over with a chess piece and the suspects cell phone and tells Mark that the suspect had been hacking into various computer networks apparently in an attempt to discover why the blackout happened. Later on at the FBI they discover that the suspect D.Gibbons was awake during the blackout and was calling Suspect Zero.

That evening Janis and Demetri post their stories on Mosaic in order to find more information about what happened to them. Later on Demetri gets a phonecall from a mysterious woman who tells him that she was reading an intelligence briefing that told her that on March 15 2010 he was going to be murdered.

At Mark’s house we see him burning Charlie’s friendship bracelet and later as he speaks to Charlie before she goes to sleep, she tells him that “D Gibbons is a bad man”.
