Torchwood: Children of Earth (Part 3) – Episode Synopsis
In London, the Torchwood break into an old abandoned Torchwood facility which no longer has anu equipment, elsewhere we see news coverage of the incident.
We then see an interview with the PM where he announces a curfew for all children under 18, and ask people to stay calm.
Back at Ianto’s sister they seem to be collecting children, as her husband has volunteered them as a babysitting service, meanwhile Jacks daughter Alice once again tries to contact him and fails. She then borrows a mobile phone to call the police about Jack and gets targeted by Johnson, who later finds out she is his daughter and is ordered to bring them in.
Given their lack of resources, the Torchwood team under Gwens direction start stealing everything they need. This then enables them to set up a basic infrastructure at the new base, and Ianto gets Jack a new set of clothes.
Elsewhere Clement is still acting strange, and is starting to flashback to the incident in 1965. He then gets arrested by the police.
A little later they meet with Lois and ask for her help and ask her to wear special contact lenses that will let them see inside Whitehall. Lois refuses to help but takes the contact lenses with her.
Back at the Hub, Ianto mentions Clements history to Jack which triggers something in Jack. He then realises he knew the other people killed at the same time he was blown up.
At the home office, Lois manages to trick Bridget into letting her accompany Frobisher to Thames House, and Gwen manages to get Clement out of jail.
Back in Wales, Alice realises something is wrong and makes a run for it before Johnsons team arrives, but she still ends up being captured by Johnson. At the moment she surrenders however, the 456 arrive and take control of the children including her son Steven.
This time all the children are pointing at Thames House in London, an orange beam of light then descends from the sky, which coalesces inside the chamber Mr Dekker had made for them. The children then chant “We are here”.
Inside Thames House Frobisher talks to the 456, who are content to be called the 456. He then asks them what they want, and they ask to speak to the World. Frobisher then convinces them just to speak to elected representatives rather than the world as a whole. He also asks them to keep the previous encounter private to which they agree.
At Downing street, the PM meets with UNIT and the Americans, who are angry at being kept out the loop. The PM then manipulates everyone into keeping the status quo with Frobisher in charge of the dialog. Frobisher is less than happy when he receives the news.
In Gwens car, Clement has another flashback, he also remembers that “the same man is back”.
Jack then calls Frobisher on his wifes (Anna’s) phone and ask them if it was the same thing as 1965 which Frobisher says Yes. When Jack threatens to tell the world what happened, Frobisher then blackmails him with his childrens safety.
In London, Lois puts in the contacts and goes up to meet the 456 on Floor 13 with Frobisher and Bridget. As she cant see Frobishers mouth she moves forward to see him in profile raising Bridgets suspicions. After diplomatic nicities Frobisher asks the 456 not to use the children again to which they agree.
Frobisher is then ordered to ask why the 456 came to Britain. It responds by saying that he came because Britain is insignificant and they are middle men. The 456 then requests a gift of their children, and says they will take their children. When he asks how many they say 10% of the children of this World.
At Torchwood, Clement panics about the man coming back just as Jack walks in. Clement then recognises Jack, who was there in 1965 and complicit in the abduction of 12 children, “as a gift”.
