The episode opens in the aftermath of the bomb going off inside Jacks stomach. Gwen is running around distraught and some paramedics reach her and take her to an ambulance. It then turns out that they are government agents with orders to kill her, who she fights off. As a sniper shoots at her she drives off in an ambulance with one of the agents in the back. As Ianto climbs out of the wreckage he too is shot at by the sniper, but manages to escape.

At Frobishers house he receives news from Johnson, and he orders her to keep chasing after them, Mr Decker then arrives and tells him that the signal was instructions for something the 456 want them to build.

Back In the ambulance Gwen interrogates one of the would be assassins and finds out he claims to works for the government.

At the scene of the explosion Johnson mentions Gwen being a terrorist in earshot of one of her old police colleagues, and she uses him to find out where Gwen lives. At Gwens house, Ianto contacts her and they share information but cant arrange a meeting place as Johnson arrives. Gwen then drives off with her husband Rhys. At the same time Johnsons team raid Ianto’s sisters house as they try to track him down.

Elsewhere Clement is wandering the streets and picks up a free newspaper with the headline about the children, and we discover the bombing of Torchwood Cardiff has hit the national news headlines.

At the homeoffice, Lois again logs in with Bridgets log in and finds out information about Torchwood. Frobisher explains they took out Torchwood to the PM as they believed (erroneously) that his longevity was linked to the hub. Frobisher also finds out that the 456 seem to have only contacted the UK, which could cause problems and also that he is expendable.

As Johnson’s team search the wreckage they find an arm, at the same time his daughter tries and fails to get in touch with him. Johnson then contacts Frobisher with news that they found parts of him. Lois then tries to dig for more information but gets slapped down.

Ianto was watching the retrieval of Jacks body and notes the numberplate of the van which takes him away. Meanwhile at his sisters, the police are watching and he has a card delivers with a message for his sister to meet him later.

Gwen has Rhys try to use his bank cards to get money but they have been frozen and the government has tracked her location, she then decides to go to London. Gwen and Rhys decide to “hitchhike” to London in the back of a lorry and she uses the opportunity to tell Rhys she is pregnant.

At Johnsons base, she discovers that Jack is reforming though still dead and orders a soldier to cuff his body to the wall. She then contacts Frobisher with the news who insists that she get rid of the rest of the team by that night.

At Ianto’s sisters, her husband and local children harass the police watching them and she uses the distraction to drive off. She then meets with Ianto at a playground. While there all the children stop again. This time the message is “We are coming tomorrow”. Clement is also affected and later on runs out of the pub he is in saying he can smell them coming.

Gwen calls Frobisher’s office and reaches Lois who tries to stall them, but eventually tells them they can arrange a meeting. Lois then turns up for the meeting with them and tells them that Frobisher wants them dead. She also tells them something big is being built on top of the MI5 building.

She also gives them information on how to get to the complex where Jack is being held by replacing the funeral director going to pick up Rupesh’s body. Meanwhile Jack has fully recovered and Johnson goes to speak with him, and then starts to fill his cell with concrete.

Back at MI5’s headquarters the prime minister inspects the structure the 456 want them to build. Frobisher tells the PM that part of the structure is “for them”.

Gwen and Rhys get into the facility without much trouble, and get instructions where to go for Rupesh’s body. When in the cell Gwen deactivates the camera and knocks out the camera’s but she is spotted, and when they reach Jacks cell find it full of concrete.

It looks like she is about to be captured but at that moment Ianto arrives and extracts the concrete encasing Jack allowing them to escape in the construction vehicle.

After blocking the road with a truck, they manage to buy some time, Ianto then throws the concrete block with Jack in, over the edge of a cliff, causing it to break open, freeing him.

In London, Frobisher meets with Decker at the structure which they fill with a poisonous mixture as per the 456 instructions. Decker also believes that they are just coming to Britain, but it is still not clear why.
