She stirred in her sleep. I was standing by the door. It’s so easy to get in these days. She doesn’t suspect. She turned and brushed at her face and she said “Molly”. She says the name of her daughter a lot. That’s understandable. What’s sad is that I’m not sure she will ever see Molly again. Not in this life.

What life?

What does that even mean?

My pet on the inside tried to reach me. That’s a very hard thing to do. I got the message via one of My Team. My pet wants out. He’s wanted out for a long time. He’s scared. He feels shabby about himself. I can relate to that. All too well. I quietened him down, put his mind at ease. There really is so little time left until Operation Rose. And there’s really only a little more I require of him. After that my pet is free to roam. With his conscience by his side.

Alex and Hunt are quite the dynamic duo. I’m impressed. I suspect that Alex is going to take advantage of my silence to dig deeper on me. She will get closer. Perhaps when she does she will fully understand the magnitude of what I am trying to do. I am literally making the cosmos turn for my benefit! How about that?! Not bad for a skinny lad from Wicklow.

And if Alex can see what I’m actually trying to do .. will she be able to stop me? Can anyone really stop me?

She says another name in her sleep. “Gene.”

I suspect the timing of this episode is between episode 6 and 7, given that we have a phone call and dead bunch of Roses delivered from Summers in the middle of episode 6, so the silence aspect makes most sense from that perspective.

The post is quite disturbing in that it shows that Summers still has access to Alex’s flat and he is to some extent stalking her, it is even more worrying if this is written after the episode 6 break in to her apartment, and makes you wonder how he can get access more easily. As for what Summers mentions that Alex talks about in her sleep, Molly is not too surprising, but the Gene one will probably have Galex fans in fits of glee (or should that be squee?)

Now post episode 6, the chances of Chris being “Summers Pet” have vastly increased as he was uncomfortable all episode. While that can be put down to pre marriage gitters and lack of money, there is also the possibility that it is due to him being uncomfortable with the situation he is in and wanting out.

A far stronger candidate for “Summers Pet” emerged in the Episode 7 trailer though and that is Martin Summers himself, or to be more accurate the 1982 version of him. This also confirms that Summers is his real name, and raises the question why Shaz did not find any information on him, though that could easily be due to the difference in the age of the man Alex had her look for (50′s vs 20′s). It would explain why older Summers can relate to his pet, and older Summers would know enough to coerce his younger self.

It is of course possible that this is a Red Herring, either by Summers at this point not being corrupt or corruptable, it also seems a risky move having someone Alex would instantly suspect in plain view, it is also possible that young Summers is not Martin Summers himself but a brother as we do not hear his name. I suspect that regardless of any involvement in Operation Rose if young Summers is Martin, he will be used to demonstrate how the A2A past relates to the A2A present. This could be easily done by having something happen to young Summers that should have an impact on Older Summers in the present and Alex witnessing this happen or not happen depending on what the relation is.

Finally this diary entry also makes me wonder about the accuracy of the Episode 8 press release as assuming that Operation Rose is what is described in it, while grand hardly sounds like something that will make the cosmos turn, though the tone of these diary entries does make you question Summers sanity and sense of self importance.
